Fine Art Murals FAQ about Clare Hirn Gallery of paintings and murals Contact Clare Hirn

1. Which scenic designs are presently available?

American Arboretum 6.5' x 30'
Garden Reverie 6.5' x 30'
Tropical Spree 6.5' x 30'

Complete custom murals are always available, as well. I provide free estimates. Call me and I will be happy to discuss your project!

2. How is the pricing structured?

Each mural is priced according to specific requests. Prices are based on square footage and the amount of detail. I provide free estimates. Any shipping or installation costs are separate.

3. How are the murals customized for the individual client?

All murals are completely hand painted and original. This allows for specific colors to be requested, as well as changes in vertical or horizontal dimensions. Design changes can also be made. For example, design changes can incorporate doorways, windows or other interruptions in the running wall length. Each design may be ordered by the foot and any section may be ordered.

4. How do I proceed if I am interested in buying a mural?

I converse with the client about their space and any ideas they have regarding their project. Measurements are provided or taken. I give a free estimate. Sketches are done for a minimal deposit against the total price. After the client's approval we are ready to start the painting. Clients may view the mural as it progresses and will have the opportunity to discuss any changes.

5. How is the mural applied to the wall?

A wallpaper professional should prime the wall and apply the mural according to directions supplied with the purchase of the mural.

6. Can the mural be relocated?

Yes, if the installation was professionally done according to instructions.

7. What kind of paint is used?

I use only high quality acrylic paint for these murals.

8. Why do the murals have a "watercolor" look and feel?

The murals are painted in many layers, giving a more transparent appearance. This allows for more interaction with light.

9. Is there a protective coat or varnish needed?

Very rarely. These acrylics are extremely durable and water resistant.

10. Is everything botanically correct?

Mostly.
